About this job

We are currently looking for a Process Engineer to join the team in Eindhoven .

We are looking for a Process Engineer to strengthen the Thin-Film Electronics team and contribute to innovative R&D programs and project portfolios in fields such as semiconductors, health, and energy storage.

The team works with a range of thin-film technologies, originally developed for display and electronics applications, with strong potential in fast-growing domains such as energy storage, biomicrosystems and advanced chip packaging. They collaborate closely with local and international ecosystems of start-ups and scale-ups to develop functional devices in these areas, operating within a 1,600m² panel-level cleanroom facility. The technology palette includes metal sputtering, electroplating, spatial atomic layer deposition (sALD), (PE)CVD, lamination, and nano- and micro-scale structuring via photolithography and replication technology. The engineering roadmap is focused on optimizing the aspect ratio of patterned structures - increasing material layer thicknesses while reducing lateral patterning dimensions.

Process Engineer - Thin Film Electronics

Main responsibilities

  • Develop new processes and integrated process flows for the realization of functional devices, and analyze them against functional specifications
  • Report on technical progress in internal meetings as well as in meetings with customers and external stakeholders
  • Support technical program roadmaps and projects from both a process and equipment engineering perspective
  • Collaborate closely with team members to ensure alignment on requirements and process development
  • Support the validation of developed prototypes
  • Contribute to the maintenance of state-of-the-art cleanroom facilities

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Nanoscience, or a related discipline, with a proven affinity for thin-film technology
  • 3+ years of experience in a technology development environment, preferably in a cleanroom using thin-film processing technologies such as electro(less) plating, photolithography, patterning of functional films, and related surface treatments
  • Pro-active and critical mindset towards the development and execution of thin-film processes
  • Hands-on attitude with the ability to take ownership , organize practical work efficiently, and present results in project meetings
  • Excellent communication skills in English , with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and interface with colleagues and customers
  • Willingness to dedicate the majority of working time in a cleanroom environment
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and/or interest in start-up environments is a plus
