Cost Engineer

Combining finance with technology. That's what you do as a Cost Engineer at in Vlaardingen. About the job

As a Cost Engineer, you play a key role in translating technical designs into accurate and competitive cost calculations. You combine analytical skills with technical insight to ensure our projects are financially sound and commercially strong.

Working closely with multiple departments, you make sure every installation component of our machines is calculated as precisely as possible. Your work directly supports sales, project execution, and innovation within the organization.

Your key responsibilities:

• Determine cost prices for installation components of our "cookie machines," including materials, assembly hours, and engineering hours.

• Consult with internal departments such as Procurement, Assembly, and Engineering to gather accurate cost information.

• Extract and analyze required data from technical drawings and post-calculations of completed projects.

• Identify and advise on potential financial risks within projects.

• Provide financial insights on new technical innovations and development projects.

• Contribute ideas to further improve and optimize the project calculation model.

• A monthly salary between €3.800 and €4.800 (based on a 40-hour workweek), depending on knowledge and experience.

• A fixed monthly commuting allowance of €0.23 per kilometer.

Key qualifications:

• Bachelor's level (HBO) work and thinking skills.

• Analytical skills that enable you to create accurate cost calculations using the right information.

• You can work independently and with focus, but also collaborate to gather the right information from your colleagues.

• You are precise, ensuring that you consistently create accurate cost calculation models based on your analyses.

• Good communication skills in Dutch and English.

• Providing a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) may be part of the application process.

You are part of the Cost Engineering department, a small but rapidly growing team currently consisting of three Cost Engineers and a Cost Process Manager. You will collaborate closely with them as well as with various engineering departments, such as Procurement, R&D, Engineering, Sales, and Assembly.

Our department is increasingly taking on a central role within the organization: colleagues know how to find us and rely on our expertise in project cost calculations. Together, we work hard to support our colleagues, and we can always turn to each other for questions or advice. In fact, everyone at Houdijk is approachable, which is especially helpful in your role-you can easily walk over to someone to gather all the information needed for a cost calculation.
