Are you a Ukrainian speaking psychologist with experience in family or child psychology? Do you want to contribute to mental health support for Ukrainian families and children? Do you have a passion for prevention and long-term social impact? Then we are looking for you to become part of our Mental Health team!

We are looking for a motivated psychologist who not only brings professional expertise in working with children and families, but who is also eager to contribute to shaping and growing this project into a sustainable and community-rooted initiative.

The Mano Foundation runs preventive mental health care for displaced Ukrainian families in shelters in The Hague and Rotterdam. We aim to provide early psychological support for parents and children experiencing psychosocial stress related to war, displacement, and instability.

What will you do?

• Conduct preventive psychological consultations with parents and/or children.
• Support families in dealing with stress, trauma, grief, behavioral issues, and family conflict.
• Develop and facilitate training sessions, psychoeducation, and group workshops for children, parents, and caregivers.
• Collaborate with our team to co-design interventions that fit the real needs of families in temporary shelter settings.
• Offer feedback and insight to help shape and improve the project over time.

What are we looking for?

• Psychologist or psychotherapist with a background in family therapy / child psychology.
• Experience with trauma, attachment issues, developmental psychology, and preventive mental health.
• A creative, flexible mindset and enthusiasm for innovation.
• Skilled in facilitating workshops and working with diverse family systems.
• Ability to work with initiative and empathy.
• Strong communication skills in English or Dutch / Ukrainian.
• Someone who is able to travel/ work in Randstad; to be able work on weekends and evening.

This position is based on 8-16 hours. It is classified in scale 6 of the Collective Labor Agreement for Social Work. Your starting step depends on experience, education, and age. It also offers excellent secondary employment benefits, including holiday allowance and a 13th-month salary. The initial term of this position runs until July 2026. Possible extensions are negotiable.

The Mano Foundation supports vulnerable groups in society, enabling them to develop and participate optimally. We are always responsive to current events and respond to the needs of the city and society. This keeps the foundation constantly evolving.

We support refugees, families in poverty, people with low literacy, children, young people, and many others in Rotterdam to transition from vulnerable to empowered. Our activities and courses include language and digital skills training, peer support programs, labor market participation, resilience, and empowerment.

The Mano Foundation consists of a professional staff of over fifty people and over four hundred volunteers. We collaborate closely with dozens of specialist professionals and partner organizations in Rotterdam.
