Process Engineer

As a Process Engineer, you will play a central role in maintaining, optimizing, and continuously improving our production processes. Based in Leiden, you will collaborate closely with Operations and Management to enhance process performance, efficiency, and alignment with production objectives. Through clear communication and strong stakeholder engagement, you will work effectively with both internal and external partners to drive sustainable results.

In this role, you will support the introduction of new production processes and systems while ensuring the reliable performance of existing operations. You will monitor processes to ensure they remain within validated and regulatory limits, achieving target output and yield. By partnering with cross-functional teams, you will develop and implement improvement strategies that minimize downtime, reduce losses, and enhance operational excellence.

You will lead data collection, analysis, and reporting activities to enable continuous improvement, ensuring accurate documentation and full regulatory compliance. Additionally, you will initiate and manage process improvement projects, support structured issue resolution, and assess potential risks related to safety, product quality, and compliance.

As a subject matter expert, you will guide Product Impact Assessments and Change Control processes from initiation through completion. You will conduct Gemba walks to observe manufacturing activities firsthand and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, reliability, cost efficiency, and scheduling. Participation in Continuous Process Verification (CPV) activities will also form an important part of your responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Relevant university degree or equivalent experience with at least 3 years of professional experience
• Dutch (A2) and English (C1) proficiency
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with MS Office, data analysis, and business applications
• Proactive, resilient, and able to manage changing priorities effectively
