Become a volunteer at Aviodrome

Will you help us soar to great heights?

Aviation Museum Aviodrome is a world of aviation adventure. Every day we receive many visitors whom we enthuse about the history of aviation. Our museum houses many extraordinary collection pieces and employs passionate colleagues, but without volunteers we simply cannot exist. Our team of about 180 volunteers works daily to enhance the visitor's experience. Will you help? Knowledge of aviation is a plus, but not necessary. Enthusiasm and passion for our museum is of course a requirement.

Volunteers are required to be able to speak Dutch.

What can you do?

At Aviodrome the possibilities are endless! Discover all positions for volunteers:

Steward

you are the face of Aviodrome upon entry! You give our guests a warm welcome at the entrance, act as a supervisor at an exhibition and answer all (pressing) questions from visitors.

Tour guide

If our visitors really want to learn more about the history of aviation, you are the right person for the job. You enjoy guiding a group and have a keen sense of group dynamics.

As day coordinator you are the contact person for our volunteers and the duty manager of that day. You check the schedule, adjust it as needed and ensure proper compliance.

Een vrijwilliger in de radiokamer tijdens een rondleiding bij Luchtvaartmuseum Aviodrome

Radio Room

You have a background in radio telegraphy and enjoy sharing this passion with visitors. This subject may be understudied in aviation, but you, with your knowledge and enthusiasm, will change that.

Space

You have a specific passion for space travel and believe that this subject should not be missing from the museum. You work (mostly behind the scenes) on the exhibition and collection.

Een vrijwilliger van onderhoud bij Luchtvaartmuseum Aviodrome

Maintenance

Whether you are technically inclined or just like working with your hands, at Aviodrome you can get to work. From tinkering with (historic) aircraft to small jobs in and around the museum: there is always something to do.

Archive

Our museum has a large archive that needs to be carefully managed. You like to keep busy with archiving, finding out facts, putting them in the right order and looking for connections and commonalities. This is how we keep aviation history alive!

Simulators

You regularly fly (at home) in a simulator. You like to share your "flying skills" with visitors so that they too can experience what it is like to fly yourself.

Ready for take off?

Would you like to become a volunteer, but doubt you have enough experience and knowledge? Rest assured, we will provide you with a thorough flight plan. When you start, an experienced volunteer will take you in tow to get to know the museum and collection well. There are also regular meetings where we impart our knowledge. You will receive proper company clothing and we will reimburse (part of) your travel expenses.
